Description: Lonely Planet review (Sally O'Brien): 'One of the friendliest and most down-to-earth hostels we've ever visited, and run by two gregarious brothers who know 'the Shire' inside-out. Facilities are simple and well maintained, with a cheery vibe from staff and travellers alike.'

It's not 'backpacker basic' by any means (the dorms have TV), but it is more about being comfortable and welcoming, and giving travellers a chance to experience a side of Sydney that's far from the tourist brochures and PR spin - ie, a real beach suburb that's still mostly filled with locals. You can also get the key for the isolated Garie Beach YHA, and it's a great place to join others doing the 26km coastal walk in the Royal National Park or to get your surfing skills up to scratch. The hostel is wheelchair accessible.

Reception closes at 10pm, however if you give us advance notice we can make arrangements for late arrivals...
