It is named after the great favourite of the late Hadj Omar LEBBAR, founder of the palace. El GHALIA, an authoritarian woman both loved and feared for her strong personality (when she shouted, walls trembled…), was in charge of the education of his three children and managed the household with an iron hand. At Dar El Ghalia, all the rooms are organized around the central patio (space dedicated to main activities). Omar LEBBAR named all rooms and suites after the women who had marked the palace by their presence in the past.
