Description: Gion Hatanaka is surrounded by many tourist spots and is located very close to Kyoto's most popular World Heritage Site 'Kiyomizu dera'. Its outstanding location and Japanese style quality cuisine has made it one of the most popular Ryokans in Kyoto.

Centralized in Gion, you can catch a glimpse of Maiko and Geishas scurrying to their next appointments. What we value most at Gion Hatanaka is to use the freshest local ingredients when preparing our dishes. You can experience the authentic sophistication of Kyoto's legendary cuisine with a mix of a modern touch and style.

All the rooms consist of western-style bath and toilets but are customarily structured with Japanese architecture using clay, tatami, wood and bamboo. Its traditional architecture mixed with a modern design makes these rooms comfortable and pleasant but gives you the feel of being away from home. There is also a public bath available for all guests to use. The facilities are separated for men and women. The bathwater is mixed with the precious 'Koyamaki' (Sciadopitys verticillata).

Dinner and breakfast included are Japanese style (kaiseki style )
