Close to the action but out of the noise zone, Observatory Backpackers hostel offers you an opportunity to experience the best of Observatory while enjoying our fantastic hospitality.

Observatory is a student’s suburb of Cape Town, offering a laid back atmosphere where one can really experience the local culture. Obs offers a wide variety of entertainment and activities from a range of restaurants, bars, local music and theatre.

It has become home for international students, volunteers, interns and others looking for an extended stay in Cape Town. With beaches and mountains in close proximity, Obs has also become a popular destination for travellers and others looking to experience an alternative Cape Town.
